In easily their worst loss of the season, the Columbus Blue Jackets were smacked by the Edmonton Oilers in a 7-2 final at Nationwide Arena.

John Tortorella gave a roughly 10-second presser, the extent of his insight being "There's no sense" in talking about the game. He was visibly frustrated all night long.

Here's the player reaction to the game:

Nick Foligno

On the game: "There's just a lack of focus tonight that we normally have and it's disappointing."

On whether they played into the Oilers' hands: "Yeah, it's a 7-2 game, of course we did."

On his fight: "Just [trying to generate] some sort of emotion, just something. I was as pissed as hopefully anybody in here."

Jack Johnson

On defensive lapses: "We gave up the seam pass on the power play, two-on-ones, just gave them opportunities where they had odd-man rushes and they had empty nets to put 'em in."

On getting back into games like tonight's: "When they get the momentum like that you gotta fall back on your defensive game until you get things going again. You try to ride the highs as long as you can, and get out of the lows as quickly as possible, and we didn't really fall back into our defensive game quick enough."

Matt Calvert

On plays like the goal and the Foligno fight: "It sparks our bench, and to tell you the truth the bench was dead all night."

On the next step: "You've gotta face the music. When you get opportunities, whether it's power play, penalty kill, you're gonna have these nights, y'know? They suck, but the only thing you can do is go home, think about it for a few hours, wake up, and move on."
