From bad to worse.

The Blue Jackets have lost three of four entering tonight's game against the Toronto Maple Leafs at Nationwide Arena. They'll have to break out of their funk without one of their best players, Zach Werenski.

Werenski is out tonight with a "body" injury, according to head coach John Tortorella. Werenski is considered day-to-day and no further update was given in Tortorella's pre-game media address.

This is a big loss for the Blue Jackets, regardless of the duration of Werenski's absence. He leads NHL defensemen in goals with 10 and forms an elite defense pairing with Seth Jones. Those pairings will obviously be shuffled for tonight's game.

Gabriel Carlsson will go into the lineup for Werenski while Joonas Korpisalo starts in net for the Blue Jackets. Curtis McElhinney, the former Columbus netminder, will start for Toronto.
