The Columbus Blue Jackets played their sixth Stanley Cup Playoff overtime game Tuesday night.

One minute and eleven seconds into double-overtime, the game had officially become the longest in franchise history for Columbus. When Lars Eller scored at the nine minute mark to give the Washington Capitals a 3-2 victory, 89 minutes of hockey had been played.

The Blue Jackets fell to 4–2 in postseason overtime games, and the Capitals earned their first victory of the series, moving the Eastern Conference Quarterfinals to 2–1 in favor of Columbus.

Five Blue Jackets games have gone longer than 65 minutes, with three of them taking place in the first three games of this series.
