The Blue Jackets will take it.

Whenever you're playing the Ottawa Senators, you know you're in for a snoozer.

They jam the neutral zone, they sit back and wait, and they're not entertaining in any way. But if you're the Blue Jackets, who cares? Just play your game and get the job done.

SENATORS 1 0 0 1

Mission accomplished.

They won their seventh straight, maintaining their stretch drive momentum and putting pressure on the teams around them. Markus Nutivaara, who is earning his spot in the lineup, scored the game-deciding goal on the power play in the second period to make the difference.

Boone Jenner responded to an early goal from the Senators, scoring his 10th goal of the season (and now three straight games with a goal) to make it a 1-1 game. In a tightly-contested game, Sergei Bobrovsky was solid and the Blue Jackets didn't beat themselves with turnovers and poor puck management.

All in all, a good night. Beat the teams you're supposed to beat and gear up for a huge week ahead with three games against top-notch opponents.

Injury Update

Seth Jones did not play tonight due to an upper body injury and is listed as day-to-day, according to John Tortorella. Josh Anderson remains out with a knee injury.
