The Columbus Blue Jackets are heating up at just the right time.

How long can the winning streak last? We'll get a glimpse tonight, as the Blue Jackets take on perhaps their toughest opponent since this tear began. The Boston Bruins have the third most points in all the NHL and have been red-hot over the second half.

MATCHUP:

Columbus Blue Jackets at Boston Bruins
TD Garden, 7:00 p.m.
TV: Fox Sports Ohio

WHAT TO WATCH FOR:

  • This lines up as a bit of a revenge game for the Blue Jackets, who were embarrassed 7-2 the last time the two teams met back in December. TD Garden is a tough place to play, and it's not hard to see why.
  • The Bruins have won eight of their last 10 and now sit just two points behind the Tampa Bay Lightning in the Atlantic Division. Speaking of the Lighting, the Bruins beat them in their most recent contest by a score of 3-0. If the Blue Jackets finish this season as the second Eastern Conference wild card, there's a chance they'll play the Bruins in the first round.
  • Overall, the Bruins' penalty kill has been near the top-10 for the NHL on the season, but over the last seven games, teams have scored a combined seven goals while a man up against Boston. While the Blue Jackets aren't always the most effective at capitalizing on such special teams scenarios, it's still another way they can grab some momentum against a tough team on the road.
