Fresh off of being named the sixth-best defenseman in the NHL according to NHL Network, Seth Jones made the news again yesterday as he was added to the roster for USA Hockey's Stars and Stripes Showdown.

Jones, 23, enjoyed a breakout season in 2017-18 in which he finished fourth in Norris Trophy voting. He's the second Jacket added to the Stars and Stripes Showdown, along with his Blue Jackets defensive partner (and fellow NHL Network top 20 honoree) Zach Werenski. The roster is littered with NHL stars who came up in the United States National Team Development Program, and includes names like Auston Matthews, Patrick Kane and Dylan Larkin.

The event is being put on in memory of Jim Johannson, the former executive director of USA Hockey, who passed away earlier this year. The event's proceeds will go to the Jim Johannson Legacy Fund of the USA Hockey Foundation and the Ellie Johannson College Fund. Part of those proceeds will come from an auction that includes the players' game-worn jerseys and other signed memorabilia.

If you're in the mood for some high-caliber summer hockey, the event will take place on August 26 in Plymouth, Michigan – a three-hour drive from Columbus – with tickets available for $10 and $15
