The season's so close you can smell it.

In a few weeks, the Blue Jackets will take their top prospects to Traverse City, Mich. to compete in the annual NHL Prospects Tournament. When they return, the real stuff begins with training camp in Columbus. The team announced the opening of training camp will be physicals on Thursday, Sept. 13, while on-ice testing – a John Tortorella speciality – starts Friday, Sept. 14 at both Nationwide Arena and the OhioHealth Ice Haus.

The Blue Jackets' first preseason game is Monday, Sept. 17 against the Buffalo Sabres at Nationwide Arena.

We expect a full training camp schedule to be released in the coming weeks.
