A new addition to the organization.

The Blue Jackets claimed center Lane Pederson off waivers from the Vancouver Canucks and placed Gustav Nyquist, who is out indefinitely with an upper-body injury, on injured reserve.

In 55 career games across three seasons with the Arizona Coyotes, San Jose Sharks, and Vancouver Canucks, Pederson has posted two goals and six assists including a goal and two assists in 11 games for the Canucks this season.

The 25-year-old Pederson is in the second year of a two-year contract that carries a $750k annual cap hit. After the season, he is scheduled to be a restricted free agent and will be eligible for arbitration. His qualifying offer will be $787,500.
