David Pastrnak Scores OT Winner As Bruins Beat Blue Jackets 2-1

David Pastrnak's overtime-winner put the Bruins past the Blue Jackets 2-1 at TD Garden in Boston Thursday night. 

1st Period

Jack Roslovic opened the scoring at 8:08, finishing a backhand cross-ice pass from Liam Foudy on the rush.

The Bruins had one of their best chances of the period when Patrice Bergeron was denied by Michael Hutchinson from the slot at 16:37.

Boone Jenner nearly doubled Columbus' lead when he deflected a shot from the point at 18:47, but Linus Ullmark made a terrific save. 

The Blue Jackets took a 1-0 lead into the first intermission while trailing 8-6 in shots on goal.

2nd Period

Tyler Bertuzzi tied the game on the power play at 10:07, finding the back of the net from the goalmouth off a nice feed from Pavel Zacha. 

The game intensified in the second frame as Billy Sweezey fought Jakub Lauko at 5:37 and Lane Pederson fought Trent Frederic at 11:55.

The teams were tied at one after two periods with Boston leading 21-16 in shots on goal.

3rd Period

Johnny Gaudreau had a golden chance to put the Jackets ahead with on a breakaway at 0:32, but Ullmark denied his backhand bid.

Ullmark kept the game tied again at 3:22, stopping Kirill Marchenko's tip-in attempt from the doorstep.

After hitting Brandon Carlo from behind, Jenner fought Carlo at 8:57.

The teams headed to overtime tied at one with Boston taking a 31-26 edge in shots on goal into overtime.

Overtime

Pastrnak rushed by the Blue Jackets defense and beat Hutchinson with a backhand shot at 0:41 to win the game for Boston.

With the loss, the Jackets fall to 23-43-8.

Adam Boqvist missed tonight's game with an illness. Lane Pederson left the game after his fight in the second period and did not return.

The Jackets return to Columbus to take on the Florida Panthers Saturday at 7 p.m. ET on Bally Sports Ohio.
