The Blue Jackets placed forward Emil Bemstrom on waivers, according to Elliotte Friedman.

The 24-year-old forward recorded 3-1--4 in 12 games this season and has posted 29-33--62 in 184 career NHL games since entering the league in 2019-20. The Blue Jackets selected Bemstrom with the No. 117 pick in the 2017 NHL Draft.

If no team claims Bemstrom, he will be assigned to the AHL's Cleveland Monsters. He is in the final year of a two-year, $900k AAV deal and if he does indeed clear waivers, none of his salary will count against the Blue Jackets salary cap.
