The Blue Jackets have reportedly traded defenseman Andrew Peeke with no salary retention to the Boston Bruins for defenseman Jakub Zboril and a 2027 third-round pick. The club has assigned Zboril to AHL Cleveland.

The move comes less than two hours ahead of the NHL trade deadline at 3 p.m. ET on Friday.

The Blue Jackets selected Peeke, 25, with the No. 34 overall pick in the 2016 NHL Draft. In 218 NHL games over five seasons, all with Columbus, he's posted 10-32--42 including 1-7--8 in 23 games this season. He's in the first year of a three-year, $2.75M cap-hit contract signed ahead of the 2022-23 season.

Zboril, the No. 13 overall pick by the Bruins in the 2015 NHL Draft, has posted nine assists in 31 AHL games this season. In 76 NHL games over four seasons, he's posted 1-15--16. He's in the final year of a two-year, $1.1375M cap-hit contract and is a pending unrestricted free agent.
