CBJ GOALS:
Provorov (PP) (1st, 5:06)
Olivier (2nd, 10:50)
Jenner (3rd, 1:41)
Olivier (EN) (3rd, 18:18)

Mathieu Olivier scored twice as the Columbus Blue Jackets beat the Florida Panthers 4-2 on Thursday night at Nationwide Arena.

Ivan Provorov had a goal and two assists. Boone Jenner returned to the lineup with a goal after missing Tuesday's game with a lower-body injury.

Jet Greaves made 26 saves to win his second straight start.

Niko Mikkola and Sam Bennett scored for the Panthers. Aaron Ekblad had two assists. Daniil Tarasov made 23 saves.

Provorov scored the first-period power-play goal at 5:06 to put the Jackets ahead of the Panthers 1-0.

In the second period, Provorov helped keep a shot out of his own net when the puck got away from Greaves, and Provorov was there with the block to keep it out of the gaping net.

Olivier added a goal at 10:50. Jenner's first goal in over a month at 1:41 of the third period ended up as the game-winning tally to propel the Jackets' 4-2 win.

Florida had a pair of third-period goals from Mikkola and Bennett. Jesper Boqvist's potential game-tying goal was nullified after the Blue Jackets won a challenge for goaltender interference. Boqvist was in the crease as Greaves was not able to get back into the net to make a save.

"Happy for Boone to get that big goal," head coach Rick Bowness said. "(Kent Johnson) again, that's back-to-back really good games for him. (Sean Monahan), he's playing outstanding hockey for us. Like the face-offs, the penalty kill, on the power play. (Monahan's) been outstanding. Both his linemates tonight were very, very good.

"I'm happy for (Johnson) to get the assist on that goal. He made some good plays again tonight, and he won some battles on the boards, so very happy with him. Jenner man, you got to love him. Every night it's the same effort, it's the same compete. You go to love what he brings."

Zach Werenski missed his third straight game (illness), and Dante Fabbro did not play (lower body). Mason Marchment left in the second period with an injury. The Blue Jackets are 6-1-0 without Werenski this season.

The Blue Jackets are now one point behind the Boston Bruins for the second Eastern Conference wild card spot after the Bruins lost 6-3 on Thursday at the Nashville Predators.

Here's how the Blue Jackets stretched their win streak to three games:

1st Period:

(5:06 — CBJ Goal): Provorov scored his first goal since Feb. 4, the seventh of the season, continuing a trend that has seen the Blue Jackets score first in eight straight games and 11 of the last 12. Sean Monahan (18) and Kirill Marchenko (30) each picked up the assists to prolong their individual point streaks. Monahan has a three-game point streak (two goals, one assist), and Marchenko has points in three straight (two goals, three assists).

(10:50 — CBJ Goal): Olivier has consecutive seasons with double-digit goals after scoring 18 last season. His second-period goal to put the Blue Jackets ahead 2-0 was his 10th goal of the year. Egor Zamula (3) and Provorov (16) got the assists.

(1:52 — CBJ Goal): Jenner (9) scored his first goal since Jan. 13 to break a 13-game goalless drought. Kent Johnson (13) added the helper.
