Voronkov (P2, 15:20)

Mika Zibanejad scored in regulation, and J.T. Miller scored the deciding shootout goal as the New York Rangers defeated the Columbus Blue Jackets 2-1 on Saturday at Nationwide Arena.

Igor Shesterkin made 24 saves.

Dmitri Voronkov scored for Columbus. Jet Greaves made 31 saves.

2nd Period:

(5:42 — NYR Goal): Zibanejad broke the scoreless tie as he scored his sixth of the year on the power play to give the Rangers the 1-0 lead. Artemi Panarin and Adam Fox assisted on the play.

(15:20 — CBJ Goal): The Blue Jackets found the equalizer when Voronkov scored his seventh on the power play to tie the game 1-1. Zach Werenski and Kirill Marchenko assisted. Marchenko extended his career-best point streak to 11 games (three goals, 10 assists).

At 15:57 of the second period, Mathieu Olivier fought Sam Carrick.

Shootout:

For the second game in the last three, this one was decided in extra time plus a shootout session. Vincent Trocheck and Marchenko were the scorers in the shootout before Miller came away with the deciding shootout tally to give the Rangers the 2-1 win. New York is an NHL-best 9-1-1 on the road. Columbus extended its point streak to four games.
