CBJ GOALS: |

Alex DeBrincat scored in overtime to help the Detroit Red Wings erase a two-goal third-period deficit and beat the Columbus Blue Jackets 4-3 on Saturday afternoon at Little Caesars Arena.
Lucas Raymond, Ben Chiarot, and Moritz Seider scored for the Red Wings. Cam Talbot made 31 saves to improve to 9-2-0.
Zach Werenski had two points with a goal and an assist. Adam Fantilli and Miles Wood for Columbus. Jet Greaves made 29 saves.
The way this one started, the Wings could have had a few goals early on, but Greaves was on his game from the opening face-off, making several big saves.
Columbus was able to strike first, as Fantilli scored his seventh goal in the last eight games at 12:01 of the first period to give the Blue Jackets the early 1-0 lead.
In the second period, Detroit scored just 36 seconds in thanks to Raymond's unassisted tally. Just 18 seconds later, the Blue Jackets took the lead right back with Wood's tip-in goal to make it 2-1.
In the third period, Werenski continued his six-game point streak to give Columbus its first two-goal lead at 8:38.
No lead has been safe for the Blue Jackets, however, and the Wings scored two goals in 3:02 to tie the game 3-3. DeBrincat put this one away at 1:50 of the overtime period.

It's the 3rd time in the last decade an @NHL game has had 4-players with an active game
Columbus is 7-0-2 when leading after the second period.
"Our staff's more focused on just playing the right way consistently throughout the whole game," head coach Dean Evason said after Saturday's loss. "We're not going to concentrate on just one period.
"I'm not a real big stats guy, so we did crunch some numbers before, but we don't bring it into the group. What we do bring into the team is that we play the same way regardless of the score."
"It's not a big deal," Wood said. "It sucks that we didn't get two points tonight, but we have to take the positives and know that we've been in the lead the majority of the games the last handful of games."
Brendan Gaunce made his season debut for Columbus. Here's how the Blue Jackets gave away a critical point against the Red Wings:
1st Period:
(12:01 — CBJ Goal): It's been a successful past few days for Fantilli. The Nobleton native came into Saturday's game off a three-point, two-goal effort, including the overtime winner against the Toronto Maple Leafs on Thursday night.

The former Michigan Wolverine picked up where he left off against the Red Wings, keeping the hot streak going with his first-period goal to give Columbus a 1-0 lead. The tally is Fantilli's ninth of the season. Werenski and Sean Monahan picked up the helpers.
2nd Period:
(0:36 — DET Goal): Teams hate to allow goals inside the last minute of a period or inside the first minute of a period since it can be a momentum changer. Raymond did the latter, tying the game 1-1 for his seventh of the season.

(0:54 — CBJ Goal): Looking for the counter strike, the Jackets did just that, as Wood scored his sixth of the season, tipping the puck past Talbot. Denton Mateychuk and Damon Severson picked up the assists.

Detroit challenged for goaltender interference, but the goal stood, and Columbus got their third power play chance for delay of game, though they were unable to do anything with it.
3rd Period:
(8:38 — CBJ Goal): Werenski's seven of the season gave Columbus the two-goal edge. Ivan Provorov and Cole Sillinger assisted on the goal.

The point was the 1,353rd of Kane's career, tying Guy Lafleur for 30th all-time.
(13:25 — DET Goal): Seider's second point tied this thing up as his third goal made it 3-3. Emmitt Finnie and Nate Danielson assisted.

Overtime:
(1:50 — DET Goal): Dylan Larkin had a grade-A scoring chance off a turnover, yet Greaves was able to make the stop.
Debrincat, though, would tally the winner for his 10th. Chiarot and Kane each picked up their second points of the game. Kane is now tied with former Red Wing Brendan Shanahan with 1,354 points, ranking 29th all-time.
