OK, the turning point this season came at the trading deadline when Jarmo traded for Vanek, Cole and our old friend Letestu. A part of the reason behind the CBJ rejuvenation has been as much about the improved play around Vanek and Cole as it has been about the two players themselves.

Do any of you keen hockey observers have an explanation for Why or How (1) Vanek has re-ignited Jenner & Wennberg and (2) Cole has turned Savard back into the shut down defense man we remember from last year?
