So I have been wrestling with the whole Panarin debacle and I finally figured out what the whole thing feels like. 

This is like having a beautiful girlfriend in high school, that lives right next door,  and you both promise your undying love for each other. Her parents then get a divorce and she moves away with her mom, but she is coming back to visit dad over the summer. You and her write each other almost daily until the letters back come to a stop, and she tells you she has a new boyfriend.  But don’t worry, she’s coming back for a great summer and you guys can still be friends.
