Total honesty, when Torts was hired, I thought he was the kind of coach the Jackets needed. Someone who would install an attitude of "just being here is not enough", who would clean out the "dead wood" and insist that prospects actually earn a roster spot instead of just being handed one. I also have never thought that Torts would be the one to take the Jackets to the Finals. His coaching style, generally speaking, has a "Best By" date of 3-4 years. Which has been reached. With Quenneville being cut loose by Chicago, I'm wondering if it is time to hand Torts his pink slip and back the Brinks truck up to Quenneville's door to entice him to come here and work his magic. Thoughts?
