I believe that we're all agreed that Bread is gone. But does that mean that the Jackets still can't arrange a trade?
This is strictly hypothetical, but it is a possibility. Let's say that NYR is set on acquiring Bread and would rather sign him to an eighth year contract than a seven year contract. Prior to July 1, they could trade (for example) their 1st round pick in this year's draft and a conditional pick in next year's draft for Bread's rights, thereby allowing them to sign him to the longer contract.
As Jarmo traded away so many picks to acquire Duchene and Dzingel, this is an option he should look in to before losing Bread for nothing.
